#IamRemarkable with Enterprising Women

The Enterprising Women Programme, initiated in 2013, is a six-month programme geared to provide business support services to women who wish to establish a business. Participants are taken through an in-depth program to explore ideas, develop a business model and putting the wheels in motion to initiate the business. Programme participants become part of a peer network of women embarking on an entrepreneurial journey, where they can share experiences and learn from one another and other successful female entrepreneurs by being exposed to structured learning through workshops and group-centred learning.

As we commemorated the second global #IamRemarkable week, I had the pleasure of facilitating an #IamRemarkable workshop in collaboration with the North-West University … Not only is this my alma mater, but as an alumna of the #EnterprisingWomen programme, this is where I took my first steps as an aspiring entrepreneur to develop my business. I have since remained a member of the Enterprising Women Association and always keen to connect with nascent female entrepreneurs. We connected as women across South Africa, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when our businesses were at various transition points.  

What I really enjoyed about this session was that I was connecting with a local tribe, it felt really close to home and our shared contexts and backgrounds made for an enriching session.  k

I hope I get to host the #IamRemarkable workshop on an annual basis with every new cohort of the Enterprising Women programme.
