Commemorating National Women’s Day with women across Africa.

As we commemorated National Women’s Day this week, I had the pleasure of facilitating an #IamRemarkable workshop in collaboration with Strategic African Women In Leadership (SAWIL) … We connected as women across Southern, East, Central, and West Africa talking #selfpromotion, #diversityequityinclusion, and challenging socio-normative perceptions.

What I really appreciated about this session was that beyond sharing and discussing the workshop content on some of the key research underpinning the #IamRemarkable initiative, I personally had the good fortune of hearing from women leaders whose breadth and depth of knowledge and experience made this such an enriching experience … The women in this community weren’t just workshop participants, they were thought leaders sharing and engaging with empathy and self awareness!

I loved every minute of this online session, because it opened up the conversation in so many ways and framed my understanding anew, especially because I’m by no means a subject matter expert. But like so many women in the #SAWIL community, I have a bias to action and as a perpetual student I always feel compelled to learn, to influence, and to grow. That’s my go-to mantra … “Everybody is your teacher” … And hey now did those ladies not TEACH me … It was phenomenal!

I’m so inspired and motivated by how mission-driven #SAWIL is to see women across Africa and the diaspora #lead #change and #impact … It is truly remarkable to see more of us as women #LiftingAsWeRise
